Parque de la Paloma, or Paloma park, is situated right in the centre of Benalmádena, in Arroyo de la Miel. Covering some 200,000 squaremetres and only 200m from the main coastal road of Benalmádena Costa, or 10 minutes by car from Benalmádena’s old town.
The park is entirely man-made and was opened in the 1980′s. Once you are in, it feels as if you are a World away from mass tourism, and usual tourist trappings. It makes a great/free day out for all the family. The park has a large children’s playground and a lake. It makes a great/free day out for all the family. A beautiful place for a picnic too. Kids just love this park and the playground at the top of the park has a wonderful , huge climbing and activity centre. It also has the normal playground items and a smaller climbing frame for the smaller kids. There is also a cafe next to the park serving very reasonable priced drinks
The park has birds, ducks, geese, pigeons, chickens, roosters, and peacocks, all of which are roaming freely around the park you can buy feed at the entrance and feed then animals and birds whilst you have a stroll around.. There is also a large pen with an Emu’s, and a compound with Mountain Goats. There are even rabbits hiding around the bushes.
There are various main and side entrances to the park, and 3 little cafe’s – each of them nearby an entrance, there are also bikes to hire for all the family and plenty of park space to have a picnic or kick a ball around.
Some Reviews of the Park
This park is absolutely fantastic, you would not believe that you were in the middle of a bustling town. There are so many places around the park, animals, birds, terrapins (which if you are lucky you can see them being fed). All around the park there are cafes and places to sit and just relax, it is such a wonderful… Linda From UK
Brilliant way to spend an hour or so strolling around this beautiful park. Scooters can be hired for €2 for a lap around the lake which is good fun and a great way of seeing some of the park. Beautifully laid out with a nice little restaurant by the entrance which is great for a cup of coffee. Plenty of things to see in the Park with the Wildlife roaming free. Fantastic and very peaceful place! Sharon from Dublin
